Evotech sat nav bracket problem

Ok, I received my evotech sat nav mount for my gt pro and started fitting it, I’ve got to the point where I’m mounting the main bracket, I’ll be b%gg#rd if I can get the 2 35mm bolts to take, Kat night I’d been trying for 2.5 hours off and on and had no luck, this morning I’ve spent 1/2 hour and got no closer, how do you know when the holes are lined up, more importantly how do you line them up??

Ok, solved it, there seemed a lot more forcing of things against themselves, once I got past the fact that I might thread a couple of screws or crack the screen I managed it. Brawn before brain

Mine was the same, absolute pain in the arse and makes me wonder if the price is worth it. Vibrated like a shitting dog when I have a 595lm mounted on it, its a lot better now I have a Garmin XT as its lighter

Had the same vibration problem with Evotech bracket on my 800 XRT - only kept it on for about 400miles as don't want to knacker my GPS unit.       Now using the Triumph one on bars as a temp measure - far from ideal but better than dead Sat Nav.  Think I have a design solution for the 800 but it means cutting slots in the plastics under the screen to get to a solid mounting point.  I've checked and replacement plastic bits are far cheaper than a new GPS (if necessary when I eventually sell it).

I use the Evotech sat nav mounting and there was some vibration on the nav unit, just stuck a block of hi-density foam between the nav unit and bar / screen.. solved.

With my 800 the screen was vibrating as well, to point that it would lower itself on its own - cured that by adding an extra washer in the top spring arrangement but it still jumped around too much for me

I recently mounted the Evotech GPS mount for my TomTom on my 2018 800XRT.  It fits beautifully, but every time I hit a bump or a pothole my windshield goes lowers.  Has anyone else had this problem and did you solve it?

Yes and more worrying was the way the sat nav (mines a Garmin 660) was bouncing around
Tbh the bracket isn’t fit for purpose because of the way it mounts on the bike
To solve the screen moving down I fitted a very thin washer behind the spring on both of the top screen slide mounts.
I nearly returned the bracket but I already had a Triumph mount as well ( mounts to handlebars) so I cut the Evotech down and fitted part of the Triumph mount to it to reduce the “overhang/cantilever” and therefore the bouncing
Works ok now - will try and post a pic tomorrow

Thanks.  I don't have vibration issues.  But the screen lowering is a pita.  I'd love to see the pics.

Hopefully uploaded pics. Sorry they are not too clear as not in a position to remove the screen atm (and I have a locking device fitted to secure the Garmin in the mount that makes it more confused).  As I said I cut the Evotech short  then I cut a block of Aluminium to fit the bracket on the Triumph mount and bolted it to the Evotech.  Hope that makes sense.
