Fitting SW Motech crash bars to 850 Sport - Need Triumph torque settings

Hi, I'm fitting the SW Motech crash bars to my bike today and there are two mounts that they do not supply the torque settings for.

One is on the frame and the other is the dedicated engine bolt for the stock crash bars. Does anyone know the best place to find the torque settings from Triumph?

I'm not sure I'm looking at the correct product but the fitting instructions for it give torque settings:

Thanks for this but I have the 850 Sport, however you've given me an idea. If I can find the Triumph crash bar instructions then that will have the torque settings assuming it uses the same fixing points.

I don't know whether you found the instructions but they are given below for the lower crash bars A9780053 below which are shared with the Tiger 900. Slightly surprisingly, the M8 bolts are specified to be torqued to 15 Nm which seems to be very low! I saw other threads where people decided to torque them to 20 Nm rather than 15 Nm.

    Hi,

I actually found the torque settings for the frame mount bolt which I found was the only one that I needed. The other fixing point is to the front of the cyclinder head on the engine casing and SW NMotech give that as 20nm. The front frame bolt was 48nm. I'll try to get the photos to show which one's I mean so anyone else looking at this post have a better understanding of which fixing areas I mean.

Thank you for your help with this, much appreciated.

Where bolts are fixed into alloy casings, the governing factor is the alloy, not the bolt strength, those bolts will not be under any elasticity at those figures but I would definitely not go any higher than the recommended figures, wouldn't want to strip the threads in the engine. That could mean big trouble.
