What did you do to your Tiger today?
« on: March 30, 2013, 06:00:01 PM »
This topic is for members to briefly mention what they have done to their bike today.

Mention the parts you've fitted or the changes you've made. By all means add some pics.

If you've added some really good things then create a separate dedicated topic in the appropriate section. Please do not post details of trips here, there is now a dedicated board for trips that you've done.

Note: This topic is NOT a catch all for anything and everything.

Cheers  :031:

Note:  Personally I loathe these long threads as so much good information gets lost within them. Consequently, if members do not stick to the guidelines above then it will be LOCKED. The thread is only here as some people can't seem to live without it.   :027:

Fitted new tyres today roadsmart 2 although I havent tried them yet and found getting the rear wheel in and out a bit of a pain with the sliding brake bracket, still easier next time. Noted that the 2 year old front scorpion was starting to crack after 3k miles not very impressive.

Fitted Roxter heated grips. Basically rotary knob oxford grips and made by oxford for Tesco but they stopped retailing them. Cost the sum total of 28 delivered on the bay right now. Rotary knob is a bit bulky but I guess thats what they were like and hopefully more reliable than the later generation.

Spent quite a lot of time applying ACF-50 to my *NEW* white roadie.  It was clean before, but it's even cleaner now!

Also fitted Red Fox carbon-look hugger and front fender flick.  These look great on the bike.

Have to decide at some point between the AMC Moto 50L box I bought a few weeks ago ahead the bike's arrival, and the OEM Triumph box it was eventually supplied with.  I quite like the Triumph box - I wouldn't have spent 350 on it but it was free - but it's only big enough for one helmet, while the AMC will fit both mine and Mrs FFG's, which has got to be useful sometimes.  Choices, choices...

Someone told me it's possible to lock a helmet strap under the seat - anyone know the best way to do this?

And another thing... what's the best way to chain the bike up?  Through the back wheel and round the swinging arm, or some other way?

I'm going to let the situation mature...

Realised that my old tax disc holder was the most insecure and least waterproof thing in the universe. Fitted a secure, waterproof Oxford one with my new tax disc.
