We headed down your way on Saturday to to make sure the weight distribution of the earth stayed in balance. Loch, Poowong, Inverloch, Wonthaggi, Kilcunda, Wonthaggi (again), Archies Creek, Jeetho, Bena, Poowong (again) Douin, Neerim South, Nayook, Yarra Junction, Worri Yallock, Yellingbo then home.  Could not believe how busy Inverloch was and when we got home at 5.30 the hills were still full of tourists.

Did a little tour around Frankfurt and the Taunus hills. First time swmbo took a ride on the Bobber. Complete different bike to her own Ducati Scrambler she said better manners but more difficult to chase around the bends. Yeah Italian Prima Donna compared with an English rose... That sums it up I guess.
Life is too short to drink bad wine or to ride bad bikes.

Spent yesterday bimbling around Wales on the Welsh Rally.  326 miles on the day and 650 including there and back.  Fantastic roads everywhere.  This was my 4th year and never any regrets.
Bikes previous: NSU Quickly moped; Honda C50; Honda 305 scrambler; Yamaha RD350 (x2); Suzuki GT380; Honda NX250; Harley Sportster 1200; Yamaha TDM900; Yamaha 1300 cruiser; Honda CB600F5 Hornet; FJR1300 (x2); Triumph Explorer.

Bikes now: Triumph Tiger 800XRT - one bike less than optimum!

Across Cheshire to the Horseshoe Pass and Ponderosa for lunch with Mrs S and back. Lots of back roads, 2 hours each there and back. Such a fine touring machine, starting to appreciate the character of the bike now, where riding fast on the bonnie was visceral and challenging and engaging, the 800 only gets that way at wildly illegal speeds. What it has in spades is all day comfort and an easy burble. I go further, faster and come out fresh and relaxed at the end of it. Amazing.

Not today but yesterday, took the coastal causeway route from Ballintoy, Co Antrim to Ballycastle, Cushendun, Cushendall, Larne, Belfast, North Dublin.  About 275 km.  The road from Ballintoy to Larne is one of the finest roads for biking and scenery anywhere on these islands.  Highly recommend everyone to everyone to try this route at least once.
