Triumph recalls motorcycles to replace turn signal stems
Publish Date: Mar 31, 2013
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Triumph is recalling certain 2012 and 2013 Daytona 675s, Speed Triples, Street Triples and Tiger 800s because the turn signal stems on the front and rear of the motorcycles may fracture.
The recall (No. 13V104000) potentially affects 3,799 units.
A manufacturing error caused the turn signal stems to be weak, according to the report.
Triumph said it will notify owners. Dealers are asked to replace the turn signal stems free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided NHTSA with a notification schedule.

Further to this I have just been told that Triumph Australia have joined the recall and ordered new sets and will be advising owners soon when hew stock arrives. Great to see they stand behind their products.

How do you tell if your specific tiger is part of the recall? I haven't received any notification from Triumph or the dealer where I bought the bike.

Hi Bier
If you give your dealer the VIN number they check it against the Triumph database worldwide and they will let you know.

I wonder if they are just replacing the stem or the entire indicator unit. Anyone has pictures of the new ones?

I received a letter today from Triumph telling me to arrange with my local dealer to have new stems fitted.

Apparently not guys!
I own a '11 model XC and for some months now I have noticed that front right side stem shakes more than the left side so I raised the issue with the dealership prior to taking it in for it's 20k service last week and was told that the recall was for '12 models onwards. They checked it out but couldn't see any cracks. Well on my way home from a 731km day ride yesterday I noticed that the stem was shaking considerably more than it had been but as it was pouring with rain I did not stop to check it out. On inspection this morning the stem is broken
. I repaired it by making an L bracket to hold it together for the time being. I rang the dealership to see what the story is and I'm waiting to hear back as to whether it will be replaced under warranty or whether all the stems will be replaced as a recall.
I will let you all know how I get on.
