I'm game for this.  A quick google search throws up a place called the Stag Inn which is just on the edge of the town near the bridge you would cross to go out to the Bikers Retreat.  As a suggestion this might be a good place to meet for those interested in Whiplash's idea of meeting in town beforehand.

The Royal Ship Hotel is also close to this - Is there anyone on the forum with local knowledge that could recommend a welcoming hostelry in the town?
Sometimes I like to squat down, put my arms around my legs and lean forward but that's just how I roll.

It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.

Just to remind folk, a BBQ has been arranged specifically for those in our group who are staying in Dolgellau on Friday night. (Nigel has arranged it on trust ie no deposits are needed, but he is expecting us all to turn up ) .

Based on the names on the Attendee List , Bikers Retreat are expecting 40 -ish people.

IMPORTANT : the BBQ food will be served from 7pm until 9pm (ish) so please endeavour to get to the Bikers Retreat for 7pm.

If you do have a drink in town first, thats OK but please note that the food will be served for around 2 hours only, so please dont get too settled or you'll miss your food!  You need to allow 10-15 minutes for the walk from town to BR.

(Another point, Nigel is giving us FOC help on Saturday. In return , he is hoping that we are happy to use his small bar and socialise at his place on Friday evening, before, during and after the BBQ. Seems only fair).

So those in town look to meet in The Stag then walk (or taxi) down to BR. Does 1830 -1845 hrs sound ok?
