Weather forecast for Mega Meet
« on: May 08, 2013, 02:41:37 PM »
Well, it was stuck on we'd have some showers after that decent dry spell.

However, just to re-assure people, Bikers Retreat BBQ etc is unaffected,.... they are used to the occasional shower!

(It just means that we will be in the annex building rather than on the patio for our social).

Needless to say , looks like the waterproofs are going to be needed for part of the weekend but Nigel assures me you can't rely on the forecasts for this part of Wales.  For what its worth, as at 11am today, the Met Office forecast for Dolgellau is ....

Friday am 80% chance of showers
Friday pm , brighter with 20%-40% chance of shower
Saturday (am & pm) same as Friday but more sunny spells in the afternoon and only 20%-40% chance of shower
Sunday forecast is dry.

As they say, .... its Wales, get over it!

...and at least I don't need to bother cleaning my bike now :152:

I was going to wash mine and get it all sparkly for the meet.... So the weather's saved me a job..  :001:

So i'll have more time to pack.. Re pack...Pack... re pack...  :015:

It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.

I still think its a leetle premature to place any credence on the weather forecast for the weekend. the weather will be what it is. we can't control it. well OK if soemone in the group is a 'rain god' lets find out early and make a sacrifice of he/she/it

all we can do is hope it will be OK on the day

The only real advantage of going to North Wales is
..if it isn't raining its about to
..if it is raining its about to stop

we are committed to the weekend, lets just enjoy it, and if we have to make revised plans on the day, we do.

besides which we are in danger of allowing weather guessers to ruin the ride

Pack the strings but carry these in your tank bag just in case
